Tips You Can Use
It’s Time to Clean Your Books
We are pleased to share that our own Master Craftsman Bookbinder, Mr. David Weinstein, was quoted in a recent New York Times Wirecutter article, “It’s Time to Clean Your Books” by Katie Okamoto.
….Often, a barely damp paper towel or microfiber cloth is all you need, said Weinstein.

Treat your books to preventive care
Avoid pulling books out by tugging the top of the spine, which can stress the binding and dust cover over time, said McCarthy and David Weinstein, a bookbinder based in Los Angeles. Instead, it’s gentler if you slightly push in the books on either side of the book you want to grab, such as with your ring finger and index finger. Doing so allows you to grasp your desired book on either side of its spine.
