Dear Friends of the Book Institute,

We are thrilled to officially announce the launch of our brand-new Book Institute Master Craftsman Mentorship Program! This transformative initiative has been designed to preserve endangered old-world crafts, bridge the generational gap between master artisans and emerging creators, and provide hands-on technical training in historic book arts.

A Heartfelt Thank You to Our Sponsor
This program has been made possible through a profoundly generous donation from Mr. Roger Liles. As an accomplished bookbinder, dedicated writer, and Amazon best-selling author, Mr. Liles understands firsthand the immense value of storytelling, precision craft, and passing the torch to the next generation of creators. His remarkable contribution ensures that our studio presses will keep rolling, our binding benches will remain active, and the invaluable knowledge of master artisans will be preserved for years to come. We are deeply grateful for his vision and his commitment to the Book Institute community.

Program Highlights:
1-on-1 Guidance: Mentees will be directly paired with an experienced master artisan for studio shadowing and creative guidance.
Studio Access & Final Showcase: Mentees will receive free access to Book Institute equipment to create a final “Masterpiece Project,” culminating in a public gallery exhibition and an official Apprenticeship Certificate.

How to Apply
Applications for both Mentees (Apprentices) and Mentors (Masters) are now officially open!

Application Deadline: [ September 30th, 2026]
Learn More & Apply: Please email: bookinstituteorg@gmail.com for details.

Thank you again to Mr. Roger Liles for his incredible generosity, and thank you to all of our members for being the heartbeat of the Book Institute

Warm regards,
Yilan ( Heidi ) Luo , President
